Frequently Asked Questions

Here you'll find examples of some recurring questions we tend to receive on a daily basis.

What is the best time to come into the ER?

The emergency department is available 24 hours a day for patients who require immediate care. It is not always predictable when it will be busy. Patients are seen in order based on an assessment of their illness.

Do I need to schedule an appointment?

There is no need to make an appointment. Simply come on in when if and when an emergency arises and we will be ready to take care of you.

Do you accept Medicare or Medicaid?

In a medical emergency, we will see you and stabilize you, regardless of your insurance status or circumstances. Unfortunately, the state of Texas will not allow us to accept any type of government-sponsored plan such as Medicare or Medicaid.

If I do not have insurance, will you still see me?

We will never turn away anyone in an emergency. We do offer a flexible, self-pay option for individuals without insurance. We will work with you regardless to try and make sure your bill is never on your mind.

Should I bring anything with me?

Just bring yourself — no need for anything else. However, if you do have the following items, it may help get you in and out faster: A list of your current medications, personal identification, your co-pay, your health insurance cards, a list of medication allergies, any test results related to your condition, and your regular doctor’s contact information.

What age patients do you see?

We see patients of all ages, from infants to older adults. We’re open every day, around the clock, and provide medical care for those who are severely sick or injured. If you have a life-threatening illness or injury, call 911 immediately. If you aren’t in immediate danger but need help more quickly than you can get an appointment with your primary care doctor, consider visiting our location.
